Sophie has sat on both sides of the admissions desk.
Hi, I'm Sophie.
I started Dogwood College Advisors because I've watched too many families go through college admissions feeling anxious and alone. It doesn't have to be that way.
I earned my MEd in Higher Education at UNC Wilmington. As an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor at NC State and an Application Reader at UNCW, I learned how admissions offices really work and what makes an application memorable. As a Career and College Promise Coach at Cape Fear Community College, I helped high school students discover pathways they hadn't considered.
Today I'm an Academic Advisor at UNCW, supporting more than 300 undergraduates. I see every day what helps students thrive once they arrive on campus, and that shapes how I help families choose.
Wilmington is home. I work with families here in North Carolina and virtually everywhere else.
